LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Beatrice B. " Bea" Fahey, 82, formerly of Glenfield,
died Monday afternoon, March 21, at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where she was a
resident for nine years.
Funeral services will be held noon Friday, March 25, at the Sundquist Funeral Home
with Pastor William J. Malone, officiating. Spring burial will be at the Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
Family and friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24,
and 11 a.m. to noon Friday, March 25, at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
Born Sept. 26, 1928, in the town of Watson, the daughter of George W. and Grace Sullivan Bailey, Bea was a graduate
in 1949 from Lowville Academy.
On May 27, 1950, she was married to Bryce E. Fahey in the Watson Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Williams officiating.
A
fter raising her family, she went back to school and was a member of the first graduating class from Lewis County BOCES with an LPN nursing degree. She then furthered her education with an RN degree from JCC in 1973 and worked on the maternity ward at Lewis County General Hospital.
Bea’s membership in the Community Assembly of God was very important to her and she continued to attend bible study classes at the nursing home. Her hobbies included knitting, bowling, puzzles and bingo.
Surviving Bea are her son Kim Fahey and wife, Leigh of Lyons Falls and daughter Pamela D. Malone and husband, Gregory of Lowville; three brothers, Clifford J. Bailey of Lowville, Clayton G. and Anne Bailey of Northwestern, NY and Vernon E. and Cheryl Bailey of Glenfield; brothers-in-law, Blair Buell, Claude Levesque, Benjamin Blair and Ralph Thenes all of Lowville; seven grandchildren: Kim & Leigh’s children, Luke & Amanda of Martinsburg; Deric of Lowville; Travis and Tyler both of Long Island; Pam and Greg’s children: Taylor & Randi, Mary & Jon Baker and Zachary and girlfriend, Carrie Kobrinetz all of DesMoines, IA.; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Fahey, Blaine Baker, Maiya Malone and another one soon to be born; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Walter Fahey and sisters-in-law, Dinah and Walter Harris and Emily and Dallas Simmons all out of state.
She was predeceased two brothers Bernard “Bud” and Wayne
Bailey, six sisters Josephine Gingerich, Beverly Hotchkiss, Clara Blair, Joyce Turck, Joan Buell and Geraldine
Levesque, a grandson, Aaron J. Fahey, a niece Barbara Andre,
two nephews George B. Bailey, Cory S. Bailey; three great-nieces Rebecca Andre, Bethany Blair and Annette Merry.
The family would like to thank the 4th Floor Nursing Home’s complete staff, the ICU unit and Dr. Lyndaker and Dr. Root for their wonderfully kind care of Bea.
