LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Sarah
“Sally” Nortz Lynch, 83, of Brookside Circle, died
Wednesday afternoon, March 21, at Lewis County General
Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 29, 1928, in Croghan, a daughter of Gerald A. and
Ellen Burns Nortz, she was a graduate of Lowville Academy
and Syracuse University.
She married J. Robert Lynch on June 28, 1950, at St.
Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville.
Sally was a communicant and active member of St. Peter’s
Catholic Church, Lowville.
She was a member of the Lowville Academy Central School
Board, Jefferson-Lewis County Mediation Service and the
Lowville Village Board.
Sally was involved in many other community activities.
Surviving are her
husband, J. Robert Lynch; her children, Andrea Lynch, Utica,
Roberta Lynch Carroll (James), North Bennington, Vt.; Sarah
Lynch Disney, Essex, Margaret Lohmann (Keith), Franklin, N.H.,
Thomas Lynch (Carrie), North Andover, Mass., John Lynch
(Laura), Fairport; grandchildren, Katherine Carroll (Patrick
Zimmerman), Megan Carroll, Cecilia, Elizabeth, and Alexandra
Disney; Katarina Lohmann, Zachary and John Lynch, Connor
Lynch; a great-grandson, Luke Carroll Zimmerman; a brother
and his wife, Thomas and Lucy Nortz, Lowville; and a
brother-in-law, George Dillon of Winchester, Mass.
A sister, Jean Nortz Dillon, died before her.
A
funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, at St.
Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, with Rev. Christopher
Carrara, pastor, officiating. A private family burial will
be held at the Lowville Rural Cemetery. There will be no
calling hours.
Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
