LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Ernest L.
Moody, 81, of Ossont Road, died Saturday evening, March 24,
at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and
Sandy Moody, River Road, Lowville.
The
funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Iseneker
Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Evan Zehr
officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Beaches
Bridge Cemetery, Watson. Calling hours are from 6 to 8
p.m. Monday, March 26, at the funeral home and noon to 2
p.m. Tuesday, March 27, prior to the funeral, at the funeral
home.
Born Sept. 15, 1930, in the town of Harrisburg, a son of the
late Edward and Daisy Northrup Moody, he attended country
school in the town of Harrisburg and worked on the family
farm. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 during
the Korean War and was honorably discharged as Sergeant.
He had been married twice. Both marriages ended in divorce.
He worked at Liscum’s Saw Mill in Lowville before working
for the Village of Lowville for many years, retiring in
1993.
Mr. Moody was a member of the Lowville American Legion #152.
He enjoyed cutting wood, 4-wheeling and hunting.
Surviving are a daughter
and son-in-law, Jan and Randy Mooney, Lyons Falls; a
granddaughter and her husband, Rebecca and John Krokowski,
Constableville; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason
Krokowski; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and
Sandy Moody, Lowville, Harold and Nora Moody, Lowville, John
and Linda Moody, Carthage; three sisters and two
brothers-in-law, Barbara and Doug Cobb, Fairfield, N.J.,
Mary Card, Watertown, Joan and John Lorow, Lowville; many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, David Moody, died before him.
