— Ernest Rezsnyak, 89, of the Greig Road, died Sunday, March 23,
at his home under the care of his close friend Angel Edmonds and Lewis County Hospice.
A military service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, May 25, at Old Glendale Cemetery with Rev. Matthew V. Ripp, officiating.
Arrangements are with the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 N. State Street,
Lowville.
Born Dec. 30, 1918, in Holden, W.Va., a son of Andrew and Louise Pass Rezsnyak, he attended rural school at Otter Creek. He served as a sergeant in the
Army during WWII, in Italy, Sicily, and North Africa before being honorably discharged.
After the war, Mr. Rezsnyak was a carpenter for a few years, and later became a millwright working in Buffalo, Rome, and Syracuse for the Untied Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for over 50 years.
Many people would remember him as a grower and seller of Christman Trees at his home.
Surviving are a brother and his wife, William and Geraldine Reznyak,
Rome; a sister, Helen Kakos, Avon, Ohio; a brother and his wife; Robert and Dorothy Rezsnyak,
Cairo; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
