Fred A. Baldwin

LOWVILLE, N.Y.  —  Fred A. Baldwin, 83, formerly of Chases Lake Road, Glenfield, died Sunday morning, March 27, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility where he has resided since November 2007. 

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, Retired Methodist Minister, officiating.  Burial will be in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 30,  at the funeral home.

Born
Aug. 26, 1927, in the town of Watson, a son of the late Fred S. and Mary M. Kline Baldwin, he attended country school in the town of Watson.  

He married Lillian Moshier on Dec. 21, 1968, at the Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mueller, officiating.  

Mr. Baldwin worked for the Town of Watson Highway Department, and at McKeever Mill in McKeever, N.Y., and then worked for the Lewis County Highway Department for 27 years, retiring in 1989. 

After retirement, he worked with the Green Thumb Program at Lewis County General Hospital in the maintenance department for several years.  

He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing, and going for rides. He also enjoyed country and western music, especially Johnny Cash and watching western movies, especially Gun Smoke. 

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Surviving are
his wife of 42 years, Lillian; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Angela Baldwin of Glenfield, William J. Baldwin and his companion, Tonya Norman, of Lowville; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathleen Gudridge and her companion Timothy Stanford of Glenfield, Doris and Matthew Thomas of Glenfield, Mary and Kerry Russell of Lowville, Lumilla and Joseph Lawton of Carthage; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Edwin M. Baldwin of Glenfield; a sister, Mary M. Chapman of Glenfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

A sister, Edna M. Forbes, and a brother-in-law, Freeman F. Chapman, both died before him.
