Mary S. Calender, 88, of Woodside
Drive, died Tuesday, March 29, at Samaritan Keep Nursing
Home where she had resided for the past two weeks.
Born Sept. 5, 1922, in Carthage, the daughter of, Samuel and
Olga Pasculidis Calender, she graduated from Carthage High
School and attended Canton ATC.
She worked with her father in his confectionary store in
Carthage till working for her brother Christopher at the
Medical Center Pharmacy, Clinton Street, until her
retirement.
Mary was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church
where she assisted with the Greek pastry sales.
She enjoyed family gatherings with her many grand nieces and
nephews and was know by all both family and friends as
“Aunt Mary”.
Miss Calender is survived by two brothers and their wives,
James and Diana, Voorhees, NJ and Christopher and Kively,
Watertown; two sisters, Helen Thomas and Anne Tinsley, both
of Watertown; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at
St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Watertown, with Rev.
Philip Yanulis officiating. Calling Hours will be 4 to 7
p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Cleveland Funeral Home,
Watertown. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
