Sandra
McConnell, 62, of Railroad Street, died Sunday morning,
April 1, at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, where
she had been a patient since Friday.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in
Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden, with Rev. Lawrence Marullo
officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. Tuesday, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc, Lowville.
Born Sept. 20, 1949, in Watertown, a daughter of Harold H.
and Jean Marie Snyder McConnell, she was placed with CNY DSO
in 1956 due to her disabilities.
She has recently resided with the Port Leyden IRA/CNY DSO.
She had a special relationship with all the staff at the
Port Leyden IRA and loved to play with balls.
Sandra currently attended and enjoyed the day habilitation
program in Turin, through The Arc-Oneida-Lewis Chapter,
NYSARC.
Surviving are five
siblings, Ronald and Linda McConnell of Remsen, Kathleen
Clark of West Winfield, Vivian Pieropan of Camden, Gerald
and Jane McConnell of Oswego, Venice Richards of Florida;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sandra had a special relationship with her niece/advocate,
Connie L. Jordan, Lyons Falls.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Marlene and Francine
McConnell, who died as children, Barbara Jean Cheseboro, and
Brenda Phillips.
