LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Arletha J. Smith, 90, formerly of DeWitt
Street, died Friday afternoon, April 7, at the Lewis County
Residential Healthcare Facility where she has resided since
December 2010.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, at
Beaches Bridge Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Bradseth, pastor
of the Lowville Baptist Church, officiating. There will be
no calling hours.
Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc, Lowville.
Born Oct. 31, 1921, in Lowville, a daughter of the late
William L and Jessie Donahue Smith, she graduated in 1939
from Lowville Academy.
After high school, she worked at the Dadville Tree Nursery,
and at the Gunn’s Corners Restaurant and for Peggy’s
Restaurant in Lowville.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Lowville Senior
Citizens Club.
Arletha was a member of the Lowville Baptist Church. She
enjoyed vegetable gardening.
Surviving are a sister, Margery Smith, Lowville; and
cousins, Wayne Davis, Lowville, and Mrs. Leo (Dona Keenan),
Black River.
