Shirley DeLong Richmire

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Shirley DeLong Richmire, 64, of 302 Palmer St., died Saturday at her home from complications of Huntington Chorea disease. 

Mrs. Richmire was a nurse at Mercy Hospital for 28 years retiring due to illness. 

Born July 20, 1943, in Carthage, a daughter of Harvey and Ella Mae Schemerhorn DeLong, she graduated from Carthage High School.  

Following her retirement from Mercy Hospital, she attended Jefferson Community College.  

She enjoyed watching television and spending time with her family. 

Her marriages ended divorce. 

Besides her mother of Brockport, she is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel and Wendy Clinch, Evans Mills, Kenneth Clinch and his companion, Joanne John, Thomas and Sue Clinch, all of Watertown; a daughter and her husband, Rene and Tim Jolly, Seattle, Wa.; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Rosemary Roshia, Watertown, Caroline Dedito, Dexter, Donna Clinch, Brockport and Jane Terry, Carthage; three brothers, Harvey DeLong, Clay, Wayne DeLong, Watertown, and Michael DeLong, Carthage; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

A brother, Norman DeLong, and a sister, Henrietta DeLong, died before her. 

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the funeral home.
