— Mildred C. “Millie” Ross, 90, formerly of Number Four Road, died
Friday evening, April 19, at Lewis County General Hospital. Mrs. Ross had resided at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility since June
2001.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22,
at the United Methodist Church in Lowville, together with Rev. Marcia Wickert, pastor, and Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Beach’s Bridge Cemetery in
Watson.
Family and friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday,
April 21, at the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 State Street,
Lowville.

St., Lowville, N.Y. 13367.
Born May 16, 1917, in the town of Watson, a daughter of Willis and Cora Walker Flint,
she attended school at Petries Corners Rural School.
She married Leo F. Ross on Aug. 28m 1936, at the Methodist Church Parsonage with Rev. Whitehead, officiating. As a young married couple, they worked for Mrs. Parker at the former Fenton House at Number Four, Mrs. Ross as the cook and chamber maid, and Mr. Ross as a guide and handyman.
After four years, the couple bought a home in the town of Watson. Mrs. Ross went to work at the Victory Store in Lowville and then worked at Beaverite Products Inc. in Beaver Falls. She retired from the Grand Union Grocery Store as a cashier and Mr. Ross retired from Payne-Jones in Lowville. He died
Aug. 20, 1988.
Mrs. Ross was a member of the United Methodist Church,
Lowville, and the Lowville Senior Citizens and volunteered at Lewis County General Hospital.
She loved both flower gardening and vegetable gardening and especially enjoyed mowing the lawn, swimming and fishing in Canada. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking and knitting mittens.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Ronald and Patricia Ross,
Central Square, and Robert and Michele Ross, Lowville; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her twin brother, Milton Flint, and a sister, Rosa Wormwood.
