— Edward Bert McDougall, 77, of
Kelpytown Road, died Wednesday morning, April 23, at Faxton-St.
Lukes Hospital, Utica.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Lowville
Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Reed, Pastor, officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will be Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons
Falls. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Waters Road, Lowville.
Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Lyonsdale, a son of the late Raymond
and Anna Sweeney McDougall, he attended rural school.
He served in the Marines during the Korean War, where he
received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean
Service Medal with two stars, and the United Nations Service
Medal. While attending school and after his military
service, he worked in the woods for local logging companies.
He married Betty Belle Burr on April 30, 1955, at Port
Leyden Congregational Church with Rev. Buhl officiating.
Mr. McDougall worked for Pettibone Eastern Sales Division of
Utica as a mechanic and later as parts manager until 1982
when he became the proprietor of McDougall’s Northland
Parts and Service, selling heavy woods equipment parts and
also operating an excavating and construction business.
Mr. McDougall was a
member of Lowville Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, mechanic work
and making maple syrup.
He was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. He enjoyed
spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Betty; a daughter and
her husband, Gail and James Middleton, Phoenix, N.Y.; a
daughter and her husband, Valorie and Kenneth Newvine, Star,
N.C.; a son and his wife, Franklyn and Darlene McDougall,
Lowville; a daughter, Susan Gaffney, Chittenango, N.Y.; a
daughter and her husband; Patricia and William Aganier, Port
Leyden, N.Y.; a son and his wife, Timothy and Maureen
McDougall, Silverton, S.C.; a daughter, Kathleen Hubley of
Southborough, Mass.; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and
Walter Wielechowski, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.; a daughter
and her husband, Janette and Jacobus VanderBaan, Port Leyden;
a daughter and her husband, Jennifer and Derek Lane,
Lowville; four brothers and their wives, John and Joyce
McDougall, William and Jeanne McDougall, Elwood and Phyllis
McDougall, and Wayne and Vicki McDougall; three sisters and
a brother-in-law, Delia Brooks; Betty Jean Fox; Ellen and
Jerry Fuller; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
