GLENFIELD, N.Y. —
Frank B. Mizzi,
90, of Chase Lake Road, died Tuesday evening, April 24, at
St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica.
A funeral Mass will be said 9:45 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at
St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, in Dix Hills, New York.
Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Pinelawn.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26,
and 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the
Claude R. Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park
Ave., Deer Park.
Born April 18, 1922, in Detroit, Mich., a son of the late
Emmanuel and Rose Mizzi, he moved with his family to Malta
at the age of five.
After serving with the Royal Air Force
during World War II, Mr. Mizzi returned to Long Island.
He married Lillian Bartolo on May 30, 1952, in Queens, N.Y.
Mr. Mizzi worked for Wilson’s Machine Shop in Long Island
City for over 30 years, retiring in the 1980s.
After retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Mizzi moved to Jensen Beach,
Fla., enjoying 17 years there together
Mr. Mizzi was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with
his family. He also enjoyed woodworking, and using his
laptop computer.
Surviving are his wife of nearly
60 years, Lillian; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and
Joan Mizzi, Glenfield, and Kenneth and Maria Mizzi, Dix
Hills; four grandchildren, Adam and his wife, Michelle,
Mizzi, Webster, Matthew Mizzi and his companion, Janelle
Rinaldo, Rochester, Frank Mizzi and Liana Mizzi, Dix Hills,
N.Y.
Two sisters, Nellie and Mary, and three brothers, Paul,
Jerry and Vinny Mizzi, all died before him.
