LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Hugo
Stuhler, 92, a former resident of East Road Adult Home and
life resident of Rochester, died on Friday, April 27, at
Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility with his
family at his side.
Mr. Stuhler was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Augsburg, Germany,
the son of the late Anton and Barbara Mergle Stuhler. Hugo
served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a Medic and was
honorably discharged in 1945. He reenlisted in 1948 served
his country as a sergeant 1st
class until 1965.
He married
Martha J. Powers Stuhler, who served in the Women’s Army
Corps. She died in 2004.
Hugo was employed by Eastman Kodak as an x-ray technician.
Surviving are a son, Anton "Tony" Stuhler, Rochester; a
sister, Barbara Evans, Lowville; and many other loving
family and friends.
Two brothers, George and Vitus Stuhler, died before him.
A prayer service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Pominville, Deacon
of St. Peter’s Catholic Church officiating.
A military burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery for both Martha
and Hugo will be at a later date.
