LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Jerry P. “Lumpy” Adams, 63, of Railroad Street, died
Monday afternoon, May 9, at The Kingston Hospital in
Kingston, N.Y.
A funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at St.
Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara,
pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Lowville
Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, May 12, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
Born June 11, 1947, in Lowville, a son of the late Kenneth
Adams, Sr. and Muriel Smithling Adams, he graduated in 1965
from Lowville Academy.
He married Peggy Marie Bezio on Aug. 23, 1980, at St.
James’ Catholic Church in Carthage.
Mr. Adams worked for the Village of Lowville D.P.W. for 30
years, retiring in 1998.
He was involved with the Lowville Volunteer Fire Department
since 1965, where he held offices as assistant chief,
financial secretary, and as a drill master for many years.
He also served as deputy fire coordinator for Lewis County
for many years.
Mr. Adams was a member of the B.P.O.E. #1605, Lowville
Lodge, for the past 20 years.
He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, and going
for coffee at Lloyd’s of Lowville.
He is survived by his wife of
30 years, Peggy; a daughter, Nicole H. Adams of Lowville; a
sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Donald Sawyer of
Lowville; his mother-in-law, Ruth Sweeney of Lowville; a
sister-in-law, Judy Adams of Lowville; a brother-in-law,
Randy Morrison of Lowville; an aunt, Arletha Adams Arthur of
Lowville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Kenneth Adams Jr., and a sister, Frances
Morrison, died before him.
