COPENHAGEN, N.Y.  —  Justin M. Cody, 21, of River Road in Copenhagen, died early Saturday, May 14, at Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident in the town of Denmark.

Born Jan. 3, 1990, in Lowville, the son of Ronald R. and Cheryl Stahovic Cody, he graduated in 2008 from Copenhagen High School. 

He was currently working construction specializing in roofing.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, he was a likeable guy, he often thought of himself as an actor/comedian. He enjoyed art, music, and video games.

Surviving are his parents, Ronald R. Cody, Copenhagen, and Cheryl Cody, Liverpool; a sister, Renee Cody, Liverpool; a daughter, Serenity Mae Cody, Watertown; paternal grandparents; Yolande Phillips, Carthage; Ronald Cody, Utica; and maternal grandmother, Sally Stahovic, Pittsburgh, Pa.; several aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A calling hour will also be held noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Linda J. Harris, officiating, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Carthage, officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family.
