LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Dorothy
E. “Dot” Johnson, 68, of Dewitt Street, passed away May
13 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where she had
been a patient since April.
Born May 11, 1944, in Lowville, the daughter of Maynard C.
and AnnaBelle Thomas Rumble, she attended school at General
Martin High School in Glenfield.
Dot was a foster mother for several years to many children.
She retired from Lowville Free Library where she worked for
a few years.
Dorothy attended Bethel Church of the Nazarene.
She loved chatting and playing games on her computer and she
enjoyed camping, fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, April Fuller, Lowville; her niece
whom she made her home with, Michelle Plantz; three brothers
and two sisters-in-law, Michael C. and Barbara Thomas, Lake
Charles, La., Herbert Wayne and Stella Rumble, Ragley, La.,
and Maynard G. Rumble, Chases Lake; several nieces and
nephews and, Dot’s special friend, her Pomeranian “Taz”.
Her sister, Mary L., and a nephew, Wayne Michael Rumble,
predeceased her.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the
funeral home.
A funeral service will be 5 p.m. Tuesday May 22, at
Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Keith W. Hardy, pastor of
Bethel Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, in Old Glendale
Cemetery.
