Gerald E. Pominville

BRANTINGHAM, N.Y.  —  Gerald E. Pominville, 68, of North South Road, died Wednesday, May 18, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica. 

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Friday, May 20, at Iseneker Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield. Burial will be in Brantingham Cemetery. A gathering at Brantingham Golf Course will follow the burial. 

Born
July 31,1942, at home on the family home in Croghan, the son of the late Hilary M. and Beatrice VerSchneider Pominville, he graduated from Father Leo Memorial School in 1959 and worked on the Les Failing farm in Lowville until becoming a DHIA Milk Tester in 1961.  

He married Bonnie Lou Allen on July 6, 1963, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan, with Rev. Reginald Baliman officiating.  

Gerald worked as a milk tester until 1966, when together with his wife, the couple purchased the Millard Plato dairy farm on the Lyons Falls Road, operating until 1997, when they retired. Upon retirement, the couple bought a saw mill and built their home on the North South Road. 

He enjoyed bowling on area teams, since he was in high school. He also enjoyed snow sledding, four-wheeling, traveling, and watching his family wrestle.  

He was an avid New York Yankees, Giants and Syracuse fan.

Surviving are his wife of over 47 years, Bonnie; five children and their spouses, Scott and Colleen Pominville of Brantingham, Brett and Tracy Pominville of Rome, Tammy and Jessic Heise of Lowville, Cory Pominville and his companion, Amber Brown of Lyons Falls, Brandi Greene of Glenfield; 5 brothers and their wives, Edwin and Barbara Pominville of Croghan, Glenn Pominville, of Glenfield, Richard Pominville, of Glenfield, Hilary and Jeannie Pominville, of Port Leyden, Henry and Kathy Pominville of Glenfield; two sisters and their husbands, Corrine Fenton, of Glenfield, Elaine and Gary Rosiczkowski of Turin, a brother-in-law, Louis Kampnich of Castorland; 9 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

He was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Kampnich; three brothers,  Francis and George Pominville, who died at birth, and Allen R. Pominville.
