GLENFIELD, N.Y.  —  Nellie M. Swan, 94, of Glendale Road, died late Friday evening, May 20, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Marullo, officiating. Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery.  

Calling hours are 7 to 9  p.m. Monday, May 23, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  

Born Sept. 15, 1916, in Turin, a daughter of the late Anthony and Blanche Matulewicz, she was educated in the Turin School District.  

She married Charles William Swan on July 28, 1937, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield.  

Mrs. Swan worked at Beaverite for 31 years, retiring in 1978.  

She enjoyed gardening, baking and making rugs from plastic bags.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield.

Surviving are a son-in-law, Harold Reape, Glenfield; and several nieces and nephews.    

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Swan, who died Jan. 18, 1995; and her daughter, Patty Reape, who died Jan. 3, 2000; six sisters, Stella Convertino, Laura Reed, Mary Primus, Sophie Brown, Katherine Breyette, Helen Delles; and two brothers, John and Benny Matulewicz.
