CARTHAGE, N.Y.
— Luella
M. "Ginger" Gyingyelegan, 82, of 34373 Route 26,
died Friday afternoon, June 1, at her residence where she
was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson
County.
Born Sept. 5, 1929, in Detriot, Mich., the daughter of the
late Joseph and Mabel Hubbard Girard, she was a 1947
graduate of Hartland High School and moved to New York the
same year.
She married Louis Gyingyelegan on Nov. 24, 1951, at St.
Rita’s Church in Deferiet with the Rev. Quinn officiating.
Louis died Sept. 3, 2001.
From 1967 until Nov. 1, 1990, she worked as a custodian for
the St. Regis Paper Company in Deferiet.
Luella
was a member of St. Rita's Church and the Carthage Area
Hospital Auxiliary.
She loved to cook and entertain her family.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands: Patricia
M. and Timothy Turpin, Carthage, and Anne M. and Robert
Fleming, Croghan; two sons and their wives, Richard J. and
Sherri Ginger, Black River, and Joseph A. and Kris Ginger,
Carthage; five grandsons, two step granddaughters and two great-grandchildren;
a brother and his wife, Gerald and Shirley Girard,
Hurricane, Utah; and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Louis Girard, died before her.
Funeral services
will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at St. Rita's Church
with Rev. Garvin Demarias officiating. Burial will be in
Black River Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m.
Monday, June 4, at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.
