Mary J. Gerber

LOWVILLE, N.Y. —  Funeral services for Mary Jane Gerber, 52, of 9001 Hoffman Road, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday June 12, at Naumburg Mennonite Church with the Ministry of Hope Mennonite Church officiating Burial will follow in the Hope Mennonite Church Cemetery.  

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Naumburg Mennonite Church. Arrangements are with Adirondack Funeral Home, Croghan. 

Mrs. Gerber died of heart failure Friday morning at her residence while under the care of her family and Lewis County Hospice. 


Born Dec. 7, 1954, in Wooster, Ohio, the daughter of Sam A. and Sarah S Yoder Miller, she attended school in Wooster Ohio. 

She married Kenneth Gerber on April 5, 1975.

She made her home in Ontario Canada for many years, coming to Lowville in November of 2006. She was a homemaker, and was also a member of the Hope Mennonite Fellowship.  

Besides her mother of Ohio and her husband, she is survived by five sons and a daughter, Conrad, at home; Marietta and Mathew Lebold, Thornloe, ON; Samuel and Kathaleen, Earlton, ON; Nathan and Juanita, Earlton, ON; Marlin and Kristina, West Liberty, KY; and Luke and Joanna, Thornloe, ON; three brothers Delbert, Nelson, and Robert; two sisters, Katie Schrock and Dorothy Steiner, all of Ohio; 15 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Her father, Sam A., and a brother, Yost, died before her.    

The family requests memorial donations be made to C.M.F. Missions Inc.  414 Centerpoint Rd. Thurman, OH 45685.
