Gladys Roggie

LOWVILLE, N.Y.  — 
Gladys Roggie, 79, formerly of Boshart Road, died Thursday evening, June 9, at Lewis County General Hospital. 

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Naumburg Mennonite Church. A graveside service will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Croghan Mennonite Cemetery with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Naumburg Mennonite Church with Rev. Titus Mast, Rev. Myron Roggie, Rev. Elmer Lehman and Rev. Evan Zehr, officiating. 

Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. 

Born Feb. 29, 1932, at home in Lowville, a daughter of the late Reuben and Verna Yousey Roggie, she attended country school and Lowville Academy. 

Miss Roggie began working for Lowville Academy in September 1962, as a cleaner; and from Sept. 1, 1963 to June 30, 1995, she worked as both a cleaner and a food service helper. She also worked as a food service helper from Sept. 1, 1995 to June 30, 1999, upon retirement.   

She was a member of Lowville Mennonite Church and a member of Faithful Workers Sewing Circle. 

She enjoyed crocheting afghans, and making baby blankets for the Agape Shop; and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. 

She attended Naumburg Mennonite Church for many years. 

She is survived by two sisters, Clara Roes of Lowville, Helen Roggie of Castorland; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Janet Roggie of Lowville; nieces, nephews and cousins.  

S brother, Allan Roggie, died in 1955. Two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Roes and Elton Roggie, also died before her.
