CLAYTON, N.Y. — Helen Peets Davis, 82, of
Swart Ave., died Sunday evening, June 24, in the emergency
room at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June
27, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St.,
Clayton. A vigil service will follow at 5:30
p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in her name to T. I. E. R.S., P. O.
Box 524, Clayton, N.Y. 13624.
Born Oct. 1, 1924, in East Rochester, the daughter of Joseph
and Frances Spollio, she attended schools in East Rochester.
In 1942, she married Luther D. Peets in East
Rochester. He died in September of 1966.
On Dec. 28, 1968, she married Earl J. Davis in Lincoln, NY
at the Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon officiating.
She worked for 21 years for the American Can Company in
Fairport as an inspector, and was a
housewife.
In 1976, the couple moved from Lincoln to Clayton, and they
had wintered in Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., for 25 years.
She attended St. Mary's Church, Clayton, and was a member of
the Ladies of the Moose, Lodge #1179 in Lake Panasoffkee.
She was an avid bingo and card player, and enjoyed
reading. She was extremely devoted to her
family.
Besides her husband, Earl J. Davis, she is survived by her
five children, Dianna L. & William Gross, Ontario, N.Y.,
Kenneth M. and Marie Peets, East Rochester, David D. Peets,
Clayton, Judy A. and Thomas Parker, Sodus, Laura L. &
James Bond, Marion; her step daughter, Linda M.
and David Goff, Astatula, Fla.; her 16 grandchildren and 19
great grandchildren; and her numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Her two brothers, Peter and Steve Spollio, and her five
sisters, Ann Posick, Josephine Baker, Mary Hibner, Katherine
Krivitza, and Eva Chesko, all died before her.
