Richard Scott Sample, 52, of Hadcock Road,
died in an accident while riding his motorcycle on Friday
night, July 15.
He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Born March 18, 1959, in Watertown, the son of Richard and
Sally Olin Sample, he graduated from Watertown High School
and attended Canton ATC, majoring in drafting.
Mr. Sample worked for Niagara Mohawk, now National Grid, for
twenty five years. He was a foreman in the line department
at the time of his death.
Surviving are his mother and father, Watertown; two sisters
and a brother-in-law, Jeanne Sample, Schenectady, and Becky
and Joseph Sorrentino, Lee, Mass..; his fiancé, Penny
McKenna, Watertown; a son, Scott Sample, Watertown; a
daughter, Ashley McCloud, Watertown; two step children,
David and Erica Turck, Watertown; a nephew, J.T. Sorrentino;
two uncles and an aunt, Kent and Audrey Olin and David
Nowell; many cousins.
Scott enjoyed being with friends and family, bowling,
snowmobiling, motorcycling and working around and in his
home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20,
at First United Methodist, Watertown, with Rev. Leon VanWie
officiating. Burial will be Brookside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July
19, at the Cleveland Funeral Home.
