Milfred
R. McLane, 91, formerly of Cascade Avenue, died Thursday
evening, July 19, at Lewis County General Hospital.
The
funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012 at
Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Rev. Bruce W.
Chapman, retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Calling
hours are from 1-3 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the
funeral home. Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery.
Born April 17, 1921, in the town of Harrisburg, a son of the
late Charles and Rhetta Waite McLane, he attended Lowville
Academy and served in the Army during World War II.
He married Helen Burr on Aug. 10, 1945, at First Methodist
Church, Utica.
Milfred worked at a paper mill in Utica and lated moved to
West Martinsburg, working for AMF in Lowville for many
years, before retiring.
He
was a member of Lewis County memorial Post #6912, Lowville
VFW and enjoyed hunting.
Surviving are a son, David L. McLane, Lowville; a daughter,
Sharon Burdick, Lyons Falls; a brother, Ernest McLane, New
Jersey; four granddaughters, five great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; a son-in-law, Gary
“Skip” Burdick; a brother, Clarence McLane; and three
sisters, Gladys Kerfien, Gertrude Colgrove, and Helen
Tolopka.
