Ledwin "Therese" Salmon

GLENFIELD, N.Y.  — 
Ledwin “Therese” Salmon, 83, of State Route 12, died Saturday afternoon, July 21, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.  

A funeral Mass will be said 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Greig. There will be no calling hours.

Born Jan. 2, 1929, in Utica, a daughter of the late Francis P. and Ledwin Riley Mangan, she graduated from Port Leyden High School and CCBI in Syracuse. 

She married David B. Salmon on July 23, 1949, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Port Leyden with Rev. Donnelly, officiating. After her marriage, she worked for a year and then stayed at home and raised her family.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Chruch, Glenfield, and a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was active as a leader for both Brownies and the Cub Scouts, while her children participated. She loved working in her flower gardens, birdwatching and a long daily walk.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all staff of the Facility for the attentive care and support provided her for the past five years.

Surviving are four children, a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and John Gracey, Glenfield; a daughter, Bonnie Hudson, Plymouth, Mass.; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter D. and Rebecca Salmon, Syracuse; a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen Salmon-Salvemini and Joseph Salvemini, Herkimer; five grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Gracey, Philip and Elizabeth Hudson, Riley Salmon-Salvemini; three great-grandchildren, Margaret, Bridgid, and John Gracey; nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She wass predeceased by her husband and only sister Jane Waite.
