CROGHAN, N.Y.  —  Dorothy M. Jones, 87, formerly of Steeple View Apartments, died Tuesday, July 24, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery Annex, Beaver Falls. 

A calling hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. 

Born June 22, 1925, at home in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Harry B. and Sarah Smith Jones, she graduated in 1943 from Beaver Falls High School. 

Miss Jones worked at the telephone company in Carthage for a short time. She substituted at the Beaver Falls Post Office, and then went to work for Beaverite Products in Beaver Falls for many years, retiring in the 1980s.

Miss Jones was a member of Beaver River Memorial Post #1663, American Legion Auxiliary, Croghan. She enjoyed reading and traveling. 

Dorothy also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Surviving are a sister, Gwendolyn Hack, Lowville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. 

A brother, Harry Q. Jones, and two sisters, Velma Cole and Shirley Hack, all died before her.
