Isaac F. Simmons

NATURAL BRIDGE, N.Y.  —  Isaac F. "Ike" Simmons, 59, of 43919 Lewisburg Rd, died at University Hospital in Syracuse on Monday, July 25.

Born Aug. 13, 1951, in Carthage, the son of Isaac and Rosemary Gill Simmons, he attended Carthage Central School. He served in Vietnam in the Marines from Oct. 28, 1971, to Oct. 28, 1975. He was awarded the Rifle Marksman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

He married Kathy Baxter on Aug. 30, 1996, in Natural Bridge. 

Mr. Simmons enjoyed watching television and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed playing pool.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy, Natural Bridge; three daughters, Nikki Shampine and Kristi Simmons, both from Carthage, and Jessica Marquette, Watertown; two brothers, Craig Simmons, Ga., and Raymond Simmons, Carthage; three half-brothers, Edmond "Tink" Howland, Deferiet, Louis Howland, Natural Bridge, and Michael Hubbard, Watertown; a step-sister, Debra Hubbard, Watertown; and a step-brother, Robert Hubbard, West Carthage; eight grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A military funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, July 29, in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Roger Mono officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillside Natural Bridge Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home, Inc., Carthage.
