CLAYTON, N.Y.  —  My mom and my best friend, Eleanor Marie Benedicta Morouney-Phillips, 76, passed away July 20 at my home in Clayton.

She was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Sagharbor, Long Island,

She was the mother of three loving children, Mary, Mark and John, and four grandchildren, Maura, Michaelene, Trista, and Shana.

She was the youngest sister of seven children from an Irish Catholic family and her nickname was "Babe". She is survived by her eldest sister, Muriel Hester, Martin, Tenn.

My mom was a homemaker and her life was her family. She loved New York. She was a strong Catholic, loved Pope John Paul II, the Yankees and had a great sense of humor and touched the hearts of everyone in her path.

She wasn't a rich woman, but would give her last penny and shirt off her back to anyone in need. I can only hope I am the woman she was. I love you Mama, and miss you already.

Funeral arrangement are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. in Clayton.

A memorial Mass will be said 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at St. Mary's Church, Clayton.

She would love it If you donated to the Thousand Island Emergency Rescue Service (TIERS), P.O. Box 524, Clayton, NY 13624 as they were so great to her during of our time of need. I thank them for their selfless service to our community.

Mary Warren -Her best friend and daughter.
