WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Linda June Hayes-Valenteen, 58, of Leonardtown, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Born June 18, 1953, in Watertown, she graduated in 1971 from Watertown High School and was awarded an associate’s degree from Jefferson Community College.

She married Gary Lawrence Hayes in 1979. They had a son, Mark Garrett, in 1981. Gary passed away in 1982. 

Linda worked at Watertown OB/GYN prior to moving to Leonardtown, Md., after marrying Dr. J. Walter Valenteen in 1997. She worked as a registered nurse at the Naval Clinic at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. She continued to live in Leonardtown, Md., after Dr. Valenteen passed away in 2001.

Surviving are her parents, Clarence and Shirley Jobson, Watertown; two sisters and their husbands, Diane and Patrick Hayes, Clayton, Kay and Joseph Woodward, Watertown; a brother and his wife, Larry and Karen Jobson, Watertown; and a son and his wife, Mark and Aimee Hayes, Leonardtown, Md.

Linda enjoyed her two Golden Retrievers, Rusty and Dakota, her Hemi Orange Dodge Charger Daytona, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

A funeral Mass will be said noon Saturday, Aug. 6, at Holy Family Church. A prayer service will be 11:30 a.m. at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7to 9 p.m. Fri., Aug. 5, at the funeral home.
