CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  Patricia M. Bishop, 79, of 359 S. Mechanic St., died Friday morning, August 12, 2011, in the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born Nov. 10, 1931, in Carthage, the daughter of Leon and Lillian O'Dette Segovis, she was a graduate of Carthage High School. 

She married Donald G. Bishop on Jan. 27, 1951, in Carthage. Mr. Bishop died Dec. 5, 1977.   

For many years she worked for the former Faichney Instruments and later Sherwood Medical Co. in Watertown, retiring in 1991. 

Surviving are four daughters, Shelley K. Gifford and Rhonda M. Jones, both of Carthage, Sherry Normand, Stark, N.H., and Terri L. Bishop, Watertown, two sons, Randy J. Bishop and Donald G. Bishop Jr., both of Carthage; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great great-granddaughter; a sister, Phyllis Lee of Montana; and several nieces and nephews. 

Three brothers, Neil, George and Leon Segovis Jr., died before her. 

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in St. James Cemetery, Carthage with Rev. Robert Barone officiating. A reception will follow immediately afterwards at the VFW Post #2772 in Carthage.
