Belle Levin

ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y.  —  Belle Levin, 97, formerly from Massena, died Sunday afternoon, July 31, at Claxton Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, where she had been a patient.

Born July 12, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., she was one of six children born to Michael and Molly Simon.  

Upon graduating high school, Belle went to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the Pentagon. 

She married Martin Levin in 1944, and upon moving to Massena, they owned and operated The Economy Furniture Store for 35 years, in Massena. Mr. Levin passed away in October 2003. 

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Judy and George Depuy, Alexandria Bay; grandchildren, Michael Wills, Front Royal, Virginia, and Stephanie Wills Hutcheon, LaFargeville; and a great granddaughter, Nevaeh Hutcheon, LaFargeville. 

The funeral was held Aug. 1 at Adath Israel Cemetery, Massena, with Rabbi Snyder officiating.
