— Anna M. Allard, 69, of School Street, died early Wednesday morning at her home where she had been under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Graveside service and calling hours are private.
Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams.
Born Aug. 15, 1942, in Afton, N.Y., daughter of Lyman and Frances Callahan Freer, she graduated from Adams Center High School.
She married Virgil E. Allard on April 3, 1960, at Stone Presbyterian Church in Watertown. The couple lived on Massey Street Road, Adams Center. Mr. Allard died
Nov. 21, 1984.
Mrs. Allard later moved to Adams Center and purchased her current home in 1999.
She drove school bus for South Jefferson Central School for 10 years, then drove city bus in Watertown for 12 years before retiring in 2003.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Lyman and Melissa Allard, New Haven; a daughter, Sandra Burnham, and her
fiancé, Robert Freeman, Adams Center; four grandchildren; a
brother, LeRoy Freer, Adams; four sisters, Barbara Welte,
Calif., Rose Robarge, Winter Garden, Fla., Mary Groff,
Adams, and Juanita Harrison, Manitoba, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Jeffery Allard, died in 1972. A brother, Leo Freer, and a sister, Margaret
Riley, also died before her.
She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and Breast Cancer Awareness.
