LAFARGEVILLE, N.Y.  —  William F. Daly, 70, formerly of LaFargeville, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 26, at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where he had resided since Feb. 8, 2010.

The funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at St. Mary's Church, Clayton, with Rev. Arthur LaBaff officiating, followed by burial in Depauville Cemetery. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Born October 26, 1940, in Queens, the son of William H. and Irene E. Greene Daly, he graduated from John Adams High School, Queens.

On May 26, 1962 he married Diane M. Wichern at St. Sylvester's Church, Brooklyn, and she died on May 15, 2007.

The couple moved to Depauville in 1973. After 21 years, he retired in 1985 as a traffic manager for Fort Drum. After his retirement, he was a handyman in the local area. 

He had attended St. Mary's Church.

Surviving are two sons, William A. Daly and wife, Linda B., Depauville, and Timothy C. Daly and partner, Terry Merritt, Garner, N.C.; two grandchildren, Morgan E. and Kaitlyn D. Daly; two sisters, Patricia Daly, Long Island and Shirley Bard, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Besides his wife, Diane, he was predeceased by his son, Dennis M. Daly, August 25, 2005, and his sister, Gladys Martin.
