CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  Scott A. Ward, 50, of 802 West St., died suddenly Monday morning, Aug. 29, at his residence.

Born May 12, 1961, in Carthage, the son of the late Douglas H. and Evelyn Johnson Ward, he attended Carthage Central Schools. 

He married the former Bonnie M. Motichek in February 1993 in Carthage. 

He was a janitor for the Carthage Central School District for many years and later has a materials handler for the Post Engineers at Fort Drum until becoming disabled.

Scott was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, a movie collector and enjoyed tinkering with anything in his younger years.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie M., Carthage; a daughter, Jennifer L. Ward, Carthage; a son, Peter A. Motichek, Watertown; a granddaughter, Isabella Motichek, Watertown; four sisters, Karen Burke, Susan Gurdak and Penny Rivers, all of Carthage, and Debrah Prievo, Pa.; four brothers, Douglas H., Dale E., David K. and Kevin M. Ward, all of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. There will be no calling hours.
