David B. Gardner

CALCIUM, N.Y.  —  David B. Gardner, 56, of 25095 Plank Road, passed August 31, 2011 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

A funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Mon., Sept. 5, at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Sanford Corners Cemetery.

Calling hours will be noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the home of his mother, Bernice Gardner, at 23748 Route 11, Calcium.

Born April 27, 1955, in Watertown, the son of Donald Grant and Bernice R. Staie Gardner, he graduated from IHC in 1973.

Following school, he worked on the family farm and later purchased it form his parents in the late 1970s. 

He owned an operated the farm for several years and is currently employed at Crowley Food’s in LaFargeville where he has worked for the past 25 years.

David was an avid ice fisherman, Yankees fan, enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with his family.

Among his survivors are his mother, Bernice R. Gardner; three brothers and two sisters in law, Donald G. and Diane M. Gardner Jr., Calcium, Daniel T. Gardner, DePauville, Douglas A. and Kimberlee Gardner, Utica; four sisters and their husbands, Jean M. and Richard N. Doell, Calcium, Judith A. and Kenneth R. Piarulli, Watertown, Joyce R. and John M. Pignone, Rodman, Jennifer M. and Michael A. Crestani, Calcium; several nieces and nephews.

David was an organ and tissue donor and was able to touch the lives of many individuals with this generous gift following his sudden passing.
