LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Edwin J.
Widrick, 80, of Number Four Road, died Thursday morning,
September 1, 2011 at Lewis County Residential Healthcare
Facility.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at Iseneker
Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Burial will follow in West
Lowville Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 31, 1931, in the town of New Bremen, a son of the
late John E. and Ellen B. Lehman Widrick, he graduated in
1948 from Lowville Academy, and worked on the family farm
following his graduation.
He married Janie Patchen on Nov. 29, 1952, at Lowville
United Methodist Church.
Mr. Widrick took over the family farm, and together with his
wife, the couple owned and operated the farm for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Widrick owned and operated the Le-Hav Motel in
West Lowville from 1974 to 2007, when the couple retired.
Mr. Widrick
was a past member of the B.P.O.E. #1605, Lowville Lodge, the
Lowville Grange, and the Farm Bureau.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, watching sports on
television, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Janie; four children and
their spouses, Rickey E. and Nancy Widrick of Lowville;
Sandy K. Eaves of Lowville; Shelly A. Turck and her
companion, Zyggi Kolenda, of Lowville; Sherry L. and George
Marriam of Watertown; two sisters and brothers-in-law,
Phyllis and Paul Jantzi of Lowville, Ruby and Ronald Norton
of Lowville; 12 grandchildren, Eric and Diana Widrick; Greg
Widrick and his companion, Laurie; Jason Widrick; Krista
Wenstrom and her fiancé, Mike; Kyle Wenstrom; Joel and
Shenel Eaves; Josh Eaves and his fiancé, Leah; Kate Eaves
and her companion, Thomas; Justin Eaves; Thomas Turck and
his girlfriend, Nicole; Dana Turck and her boyfriend,
Brandon; Nathan Marriam; and seven great-grandchildren,
Ashtin, Alex, Kara, Schyler, Alyssa, Breanna, and Angela;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Florence Widrick, who
died as a child, Helen Lyndaker and Adeline Zehr.
