Ruth H. Clark

DEXTER, N.Y.    Ruth H. Clark, 95, formerly of Dexter, passed away Thursday evening at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where she had been a resident there since last year.

Born April 13, 1916, in the town of Orleans, the daughter of Wilbur and Stella Jones Joles, she attended school in Clayton.  

She married George B. Clark in November 1946 at Hope Presbyterian Church in Watertown.

The couple lived on Pillar Point and then she moved to Watertown. She worked at Warner Knitting Mill in Clayton, Calavo Fruit Packing in Sackets Harbor and was a Home-caregiver for the elderly.

She was a past president of Dexter Senior Citizens, Clayton and Alexandria Bay Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son-in-law, Frederick Phillips, Dexter; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1994, her daughter, Patricia, in 2009, and sisters, Doris Nier, Bessie Joles, Jessie Sanford, and Avis Joles.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Rev. Paul Gmitter officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5.
