CENTER, N.Y. — Patricia
M. Ryder, 72, of Adams Center, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6,
at her home under the care of her sons, Richard and James,
and their wives.
Private graveside services were held for the convenience of
her family in Union Cemetery, Adams Center.
Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home,
Belleville.
She was born July 29, 1939, in Adams, a daughter to Robert
and Ella Mae Davis Smith, Sr.
In her early years, Pat worked for the National Bank in
Adams, and later for Red Gables Fabric Shop in Adams Center.
She did childcare at her home, worked on the family farm in
the Town of Adams, and was an Avon representative for many
years.
Pat married
James A. Ryder on June 6, 1958. Mr. Ryder passed Aug. 4,
2008.
Patricia was a member of the Adams Center Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary, the South Jeff Chamber of Commerce and
founding member of “Christmas in So. Jeff”, and was a
member of the Jefferson County Parade Judges Association.
She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and spending time with
family and friends.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Richard J. and
Elizabeth, Adams, and James R. and Susan, Adams Center; two
grandchildren, Lindsay (Joshua) Allen, Plattsburgh, and
Matthew Ryder, Adams Center.
