— Susan M. Garland, 54, of 423
S. Massey
St., passed away peacefully in sleep Wednesday, Sept. 14, at her home.
She was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, daughter,
grandmother and friend went home to be with Jesus.
Born Jan. 14, 1957, in Lowville, the daughter of Robert and Betty Menard,
she graduated from Lowville Academy.
Susan was married to Michael Marolf which ended into divorce. They had two sons. On
Feb. 22, 1986, Susan married Ralph Garland.
Some of Susan's passions were serving others, which her continuous selfless acts have impacted many lives. She also volunteered her time daily at a New Life Christian Church where her main focus was maintaining the cleaning of the church. She also made props and costumes for the children's ministry and donated her time in the daycare.
The only thing she was more passionate about was spending time with her family, specifically her grandchildren.
Susan fought a valiant battle with breast cancer, which she ultimately won.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Garland; three brothers, Daniel, David and Stephen
Menard; children, Shane and Bobbie Jo Marolf, Jeremy Marolf, Steve and Kim Downey and Jeffrey and Kristin
Garland; grandchildren, Erin and Nicholaus Downey, Tyler, Ryan, Riley and Jordan Marolf, Marissa, Matthew, Makenna and Maranda Garland;
great-grandchild, Cameron; many niece, nephews, aunts and uncles.
You can sum up Susan Garlands legacy in two words "utterly selfless".
This legacy can be celebrated 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, with a memorial service at New Life Christian Church.
