WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Gladys R. Trahan, 91, a 30-year resident of Hilltop Towers,
passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, at Samaritan Medical Center
where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had lived at
the Jefferson County Adult Home, Coffeen Street, for the
past year.
She was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Harrisville, a daughter of
William and Margaret "Roxie" Luther Atkinson.
She married Alfred Trahan in 1938. He passed away in 1974.
Mrs. Trahan was a cook at various restaurant's in the area
for many years.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle at Hilltop
Towers, and had bowled in leagues in Watertown.
Gladys was communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
Church.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Alcide and Patricia
Trahan, Covington, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee
and Dennis Smith, Dexter; 13 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren, 17 great great-grandchildren; nieces
and nephews.
A daughter and son-law, Rosalie and Thomas Iaselli, Lake
Grove, N.J., three brothers, Harvey, Grant and William, and a sister,
Ruth Luther, all died before her.
Graveside services will be1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at
Calvary Cemetery, Huntington Street, Watertown. There are no
calling hours.
Contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Adult Home
Resident's Fund or to Hospice of Jefferson County.
