George V. Davis Jr.

HENDERSON, N.Y.  —  George V. Davis Jr., 65, of Route 3, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where he had been a patient since Saturday. 

Born Dec. 16, 1945, in Alexandria Bay, the son of George, Sr. and Rosaline Hunter Davis, he graduated in 1964 from Redwood High School.

He married Deborah Otis on July 14, 1979, in Woodville. She died July 17, 2010. 

Mr. Davis was a mechanic at several repair shops in the north country including Davidson Chevrolet, Fuccillo's, F.X. Caprara's, Watertown Auto Sales Lynn's Service Center, Widrick Auto Sales and Hockey' Auto Repair. 

He loved working on cars. 

He also was a Girl Scout leader. 

Surviving are a son, George III "Jamie" Davis, Ohio; three daughters, Valynda (Patrick) Forkell, Philadelphia, NY, Deborah (Stanford) Kaylor, AL and Shannon Davis, Ala.; five grandchildren, a brother Rupert "Peppy" (Carol) Davis, Philadelphia' and several nieces and nephews. 

A sister, Rosaline Pierce, died before him. 

There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Gary Berry of the Woodville Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery.
