LAFARGEVILLE, N.Y.  —  Mae M. Hickox, 75, of 32861 Dog Hill Road, passed Tuesday, Sept.20, at her home surrounded by family.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Hillside Cemetery in West Carthage.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Cape Vincent, a daughter of Allen and Iris Sherman Street.

She married Harold L. Hickox Sr. on June 15, 1974, at the Tylerville Community Church. The couple resided in Tylerville where her husband worked at the Tylerville Kraft Cheese Plant. He then worked for New York Air Brake until his retirement in 1972. He passed April 5, 1991.

Mrs. Hickox moved to LaFargeville in 2008. 

She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping others, spending time with her family and loved her animals.

Surviving are four sons, Harold Davis, Syracuse, Amis Davis, Texas, James Davis, Buffalo, and Harold L. Hickox Jr., LaFargeville; two daughters, Frances Davis, Syracuse, and Ellen Y. Lewis, LaFargeville; a brother, Allen Street, Watertown; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Three sisters, Ethel Helmer, Lillian Schaffer, and Gladys Streeter, all died before her.
