WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Martin A. Moot, 88, of Ward Street, died Sunday, Sept. 18,
at Samaritan Medical Center where he had been a patient for
two weeks.
Born April 21, 1923, in Buffalo, a son of Welles and
Caroline Moot, he graduated from high school in Buffalo. He
served in the Army during World War II. He later graduated
from Long Island University, earning his bachelor's degree
from Yankton College.
Mr. Moot was a teacher and librarian for public schools in
the Northern New York area for many years.
A marriage to Kerstin Pettersson ended in divorce.
Surviving are two daughters Karin Quillinan, Cicero, and
Brenda H. Moot, Syracuse; a son, Carl M. Moot, Mich.; two
grandchildren, Peter A. Catalfamo and Malarie R. Gokey, both
of Syracuse; a brother, Richard Moot, Buffalo; a sister,
Mary Buerger, Mich.; several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers Welles and John Moot, and two sisters, Cecily
Johnson and Betsy Moot, died before him.
There are no calling hours or funeral service.
