Leslie W. Van Tassel, 91, of Hyde Lake Road
died Wednesday, Sept. 21, at his home.
Born August 29, 1920, in the town of Theresa, the son of
Hank and Mabel Savage Van Tassel, he attended school at
Chapels Corners in Theresa.
He married Doris Thornton on April 20, 1950.
Mr. Van Tassel was a dairy farmer and worked for Garlock
& Sons, Alexandria Bay.
Surviving are his wife, Doris, are six daughters and two
sons-in-law, Shirley Hirschler and her companion, Fred
Steinmetz, Logansport, IN, Beverly Rogers, Watertown,
Janette and George Reff, Clayton, Jean and Howard Booth,
LaFargeville, Betty Van Tassel and Alger Knight, Redwood,
Sally Van Tassel , Redwood; six sons and four
daughters-in-law, Carl and Joyce Aldrich, Clayton, Arthur
Van Tassel and his companion, Darlene Barbrow, Theresa, Hank
and Sue Van Tassel, Clayton, Tom and Helen Van Tassel,
LaFargeville, Ronnie and Kathy Van Tassel, Theresa, David
Van Tassel, Theresa; several grandchildren, great
grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces and
nephews; a brother, Robert Van Tassel, Evans Mills; and a
sister and her husband, Virginia and Robert Monica, Theresa.
A brother, Ernest Van Tassel, a sister, Marian Wierzbicki
and two grandsons, Jusin Van Tassel and Steven Van Tassel,
all died before him.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Frederick
Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa, with Rev. Edgar A.
Hunter, Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Redwood
Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25,
at the funeral home.
