WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Frances M.
"Ginny" Knight, 84, of E. Main Street, and widow
of Donald W. Knight, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 23,
at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a
resident since June of this year.
Born Nov. 15, 1926, in Richville, a daughter to John and
Bertha Mae Bartlett Earls, she graduated in 1945 from
Brownville-Glen Park High School.
Ginny was a sales clerk at the J.J. Newberry Department
Store until it closed and later at Howland's Department
Store, both in Watertown, until retiring in 1977.
She married Donald W.
Knight on Jan. 18, 1947, at Asbury United Methodist Church.
Mr. Knight passed away May 15, 2003.
Mrs. Knight enjoyed playing Bingo, cards and spending time
at her cottage with her family and friends at Duck Harbor,
Chaumont.
Surviving are a son and
his wife, Larry and Linda Knight of Watertown; a daughter,
Linda Eveleigh, Watertown; five grandchildren; Jeffrey
(Katie) Eveleigh, Jennifer (Terry) Heiler, Tracy Eveleigh,
Richard (Leah) Knight and Julie (Dave) Baran; eight great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Irene Allen and Katherine Wroniak, and a
son-in-law, Raymond Eveleigh, all died before her.
Calling hours are 3 to 6
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
Burial will be for the convenience of the family in North
Watertown Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of
Jefferson County.
The family would like to
thank the nurses and staff at the Samaritan Keep Home,
especially the fourth floor staff, for their care and
consideration given to Ginny.
