Michael J. Kramer

EVANS MILLS, N.Y.  —  Michael J. Kramer, 64, of N. Main Street, died Saturday, Sept. 24, at his home.

Born July 21, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of the late Irvin and the late Ellen Coppess Kramer, he graduated in 1966 from George Washington Senior High School, Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1982 and received his physician's assistant certificate from the Academy of Health Science at Fort Sam Houston in 1982.

Mr. Kramer, a Bronze Star recipient served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1997 serving throughout the United States, as well as Korea, Germany and Iraq. He was honorably discharged. 

Following discharge, he worked as a physician assistant with MEDDAC at Fort Drum. 

He was a member of the VFW in Kingston, Pa., and the Society of Army Physician Assistants. 

Mr. Kramer married Jacqueline Ratowski on Dec. 4, 1981. 

Surviving besides his wife, Jacqueline of Larksville, PA are his companion, Brenda Brown, Black River; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Todd, Jaycob and his wife, Heather, all of Ark.; and Andrew, Larksvile, Pa.; two daughters, Michelle Needham, AR and Cheryl Kramer, Larksville, Pa.; a brother, Jeff Kramer, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a sister, Kaye Fisher Cassidy, Iowa. 

A sister, Delores Nanke died before him. 

The funeral with military honors will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., 8380 S. Main Street, Evans Mills, with Rev. Thomas Kornmyer, St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas, Pa. 

Calling hours are 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral.
