BROWNVILLE, N.Y. —
Sharon Marie Whitmore, 64, formerly of Maple Street, passed awayTuesday evening,
Sept. 27, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, Watertown, where she has resided
for the past five years.
Born May 19, 1947, in Carthage, the daughter of James K. and
Mabel Love Fleming, she graduated in 1965 from Watertown
High School.
Mrs. Whitmore married Raymond E. Whitmore on Oct. 25, 1965,
in Elkton, Md.
The couple owned and operated the Aldimar Restaurant and the
Red Moon Diner for many years.
Mrs. Whitmore enjoyed doting on her five grandsons.
Surviving besides her husband, Raymond, are two sons and
their wives, Roy E. and Erica, Brownville, and Wendell R.
and Jessica, Black River; a daughter and her husband, Robin
M. and David J. Schumacher, Watertown; five grandsons,
Michael Schumacher of Brownville, David Schumacher of
Watertown, Troy Whitmore of Brownville, Colin and Owen
Whitmore, Black River; two sisters, Shirley Hammond,
Brownville, and Lillian Biggs, Watertown; a brother and his
wife, Wayne and Audrey Fleming, North Carolina; and many
nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Reed
& Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Murray of Holy
Family Church officiating. Burial will be in Brownville
Cemetery. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday preceding the funeral.
