John
E. Sovie, 62, of Bay Street, a lifelong resident, died Sept.
29 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born July
31, 1949, in Watertown, the son of Franklin and Dorothy
Sovie, he graduated from Cape Vincent Schools and attended Jefferson
Community College. He served in the Navy from 1970 to 1972.
Mr. Sovie worked for Frink Snowplow, Clayton, for 25 years
until they closed.
John was a talented bass guitar player for 30+ years,
belonging to various bands, the most recent being “Thank
God for Country”.
He married Cynthia Rose on Nov. 24, 1982, in Brownville.
Surviving are his wife, Cynthia, Cape Vincent; a son, Johnny
F. Sovie, Cape Vincent; a daughter, Angela N. Sovie,
Rochester; a granddaughter Amaya R. Hartzog; several nieces,
nephews, cousins and various other extended family.
Memorial services will 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Cleveland
Funeral Home, Cape Vincent. Calling hours will be 5 to 7
p.m. Tuesday before the service.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be given in his memory to the Cape Vincent
Ambulance Fund.
