Donald E. Morrow

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Donald E. Morrow, 83, of Washington Street died Sunday, Oct. 2, at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family. 

Born Sept. 28, 1928, in Theresa, the son of Ernest and Bernice E. Cromwell Morrow, he attended Alexandria Bay High School, Syracuse University and nursing school on Long Island. 

He was employed with Syracuse China, Thousand Island Club, Alexandria Bay, Scotch & Sirloin, Dewitt, and Casadigallo Restaurant, Brewerton and was known for being one of the top chefs in the Syracuse area. 

He married Beverly Jane LaMont on Nov. 24, 1950. Mrs. Morrow died May 14, 1997. 

Mr. Morrow was an active member American Legion Post 0061, Watertown. 

He enjoyed dancing, traveling, riding his motorcycle, gardening, parties and visiting with family and friends. 

Survivors include his companion, Barbara Robinson, LaFargeville; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert, Pennellville, David, LaFargeville, Rev. Ernest and Dr. Cheryl, Syracuse and Benjamin and his fiancée, Sue, West Monroe; five daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Scheuer, Hopewell, Va., Sandra and Michael Manley, Smith Mountain Lake, Nola Ridl, Syracuse, Lisa and William Whittaker and Suzy Morrow, all of Volney; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Douglas and Jean, AZ, Gerald and Carol, Lowville, Toby and Donna, Dexter, Richard and Sheila, Theresa and Gary, and his companion, Linda, Theresa; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn Hughes, Watertown, Bertha Hodge, Theresa and Pat and John Phelps, Watertown, many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, James Bacon, Theresa; and two sisters-in-law, Esther Morrow, Chaumont and Evelyn Morrow, Evans Mills. 

Two daughters, Sharon Morrow and Linda Morrow, two brothers, Robert and William and a sister, Shirley Bacon, all died before him.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Theresa Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa. 

Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
