WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Eva M. Martin, 55, of 755 Mill St., passed Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Samaritan Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in North Watertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Dostie Hall following the service until 4 p.m.

Born Sept. 29, 1956, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of Nick and Geraldine Walker Higgins, she attended Watertown High School.

Eva worked 16 years at Mercy of Northern New York as an activities aide and currently as a personal care aide. She also worked at Ramada Inn and the Microtel for some time.

She married James D. Martin Sr. on July 30, 1977, in Watertown. James works at ECS #1 on Fort Drum.

She enjoyed shopping, going to Yankee games with her friends and watching her kids sports events.

Surviving are her husband, James D. Martin Sr.; a daughter, Jamie L. Martin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason M. and Joann Martin, and James D. Martin Jr., all of Watertown; a brother and his wife Gary and Kathy Durdon, Brownville; six grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, Jacob, Walker, Allie, and Nick.

Her parents and a sister, Shirley Raskauskas, all died before her.

Donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Mercy of Northern New York Activities Fund.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.
